Website requests
Viewing a web page requires your browser to send technical information to the server delivering it. This can include an IP address, requested file, request time and browser information. Hosting infrastructure may process access and security logs to deliver the site, troubleshoot problems and protect it from abuse. These technical requests are separate from the text preparation tool described below.
Message preparation stays in your browser
The contact tool constructs plain text locally. The supplied tool does not submit form fields to a server, use an external form service or store your message in localStorage. Prepared text remains in the page while it is open; your browser may separately retain or restore form entries under its own settings.
Choosing “Copy Text” asks your browser to place the prepared text on your clipboard. Other applications or clipboard services may then handle it according to your device settings. Choosing “Download .txt” creates a file on your device; the file remains until you remove it. Neither control sends an email.
If you email us
If you choose to email [email protected], the message and its associated contact details are transmitted through the email services involved. Information you voluntarily provide may be used to read and respond to your request, assess a correction, maintain relevant correspondence or meet applicable legal obligations. Do not send sensitive personal information or other people’s private details.
Correspondence should be kept only as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose, relevant recordkeeping or legal obligations. No fixed retention period is promised here for all categories of email. Contact us if you have a specific question about a message you have sent.
Preferences and tracking
The supplied site code includes no analytics, advertising pixels, third-party embeds or optional tracking cookies. The Cookie Options page can save an essential-only preference in your browser under the localStorage key lookoutrakivar-cookie-choice. Its value is essential-only. It is not a personal profile and is not sent by this script to a server.
Read the Cookie Options page to save or remove that preference. Clearing site data in your browser also removes it. Local images, styles and scripts are requested from the site rather than external media providers.
External websites
Editorial links lead to independent destination and operator websites. Following a link makes a request to that destination, which applies its own privacy practices and may receive normal browser referral information. Review its notices before submitting information or purchasing anything.
Your questions and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of personal information, object to certain processing or complain to a relevant data protection authority. Contact [email protected] with a privacy request. We may need reasonable information to verify a request, but please do not send identity documents unless an appropriate process has been agreed.
Children and updates
This is a general-interest travel information site and does not ask children to create accounts or provide personal information. A parent or guardian concerned about information sent to us may contact the email above. This notice may change if site functions change; the published notice describes the current stated practices.
